LICENSING COMMITTEES.

GERALDINE. The quarterly meeting of this committee was held in the Courthouse, Geraldine, on Wednesday last. Present —Messrs W. 8, Maslin (Chairman), J. W- Fye and W. Coltman. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed ; and the police report upon the licensed houses in ths district was also read and considered satisfactory; and the meeting then adjourned.

RAUEaPUKA. The quarterly meeting of this committee was held in the Courthouse, Geraldine, ou Wednesday last, all the members being present. Mr W. U. Slack occupied the chair, The police report upon the licensed houses in the district was read and considered satisfactory.

A letter was received from the Good Templar Lodge, Peel Forest, requesting the committee to endeavour to obtain the Road Board office, Peel Forest, as aa additional polling booth at the next annual election, as Wodobury, Geraldine, or Hilton were too far away to allow the ratepayers to record their votes.

The committee approved of the suggestion, and on the motion of Mr L, Walker, seconded by Mr 0. G. Tripp, it was decided that the clerk write to the Geraldine County Council asking for the use of the office, for the purpose mentioned. A transfer of the Rangitata Bridge Hotel from D. Denoon to William Wheelbaud, his appointee, was granted, Mr W. E. Barker opposed the application, The committee then adjourned. TEMUEA. The quarterly meeting of the above committee was held in the Courthouse, Temuba, at noon yesterday. Present—Messrs Talbot (Chairman), Blylh, Grant, Meyer and Ensor.

The police reported that every house in the district was well conducted, and that there was no objection to any of them.

The license of the Winchester Hotel was transferred from Mr Michael Connolly, trustee in the estate of the late Mr Farrell, to Mary Farrell. Mr Aspinall applied on behalf of the executors in the estate of the late Mrs Heap, for an authority to empower Mr Robert White to carry on the license of the Royal Hotel until the next quarterly meeting,—The application was granted.
