GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this board was held on Tuesday evening last. Preßent --Messrs W. S. Maslin (chairman), J. Williams, N. Dunlop, J. Mundell, A. Sherratt, and A. White. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt wi lb as follows:From Mr King, asking to have the road Mar his property made passable for •hi'ldren in wet weather.—The Works Committee to report. ! From Messrs Webster and Macdonald, with regard to the price charged them for asphalting and kerbing in front of their auctionrooms, and objecting to the same. —The clerk was instructed to inform them that they were ooly charged half the cost. . From the South Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, asking for the | aum of £7 2s, due by the Town Board, and forwarding a Timaru Hospital account for comments thereon. ' From'Mr"K oßrien, with reference to the lease of his section, asking the board to put up the third section by tender, and to extend the lease of his section to 21 years.--It was resolved that if Mr O'Brien ,would give up the lease of his two sections the three sections would be put up lor tender. From the Manaia Town Board, asking for the board's approval and support of the following resolution:—" That the member for Egmont be asked to give his nupporc to a proposed amendment to be brought forward by the member for Geraldina in the law relating to the control of county roads running through town districts so aa to do away with the oower of the County Councils to collect rattß therein. '—Approved of, and to be iiupported. DEPUTATION. JflrJClark waited on the board with l-efoience to the charge made for asphalting in front of his Bhop, and repudiating any liability in the matter.
