London, November 80. General Sir H. W. Norman,-Governor ot Jamaica, has been appointed Governor of Queensland, December 1. The Press generally eulogise General Sir H. W. Norman, who bap been appointed Governor of Queensland, The resolution passed by tb'ei Victorian legislature with reference to thp appointment of colonial Governors wap received with cheers on being read in the House of Commons.
Adelaide, December 1 . Speaking at the Caledonian Society’s banquet last night, the Governor, Sir William 0. F. Robinson, said that he did not believe the people jof South Australia desired a voice in the appointment of their Governors, and certainly in his opinion the responsibility of the appointments should rest with the Imperial Government, He suggested that prominent public men in the different colonies should go home and discuss the question . with the Colonial Office and adjust their differences,
