IRISH AFFAIRS.
London, November 27. The action of the police in serving Mr D. Sheehy with a summons under the Grimes Act within the precincts of the House of Commons, led to a passionate debate in the Chamber. The committee appointed to inquire into the matter will bring up their report on Wednesday. A summons for a similar charge had been previously served on Mr J. Finuoane, M.P. for Limerick South, outside the House. November 28. The committee appointed to inquire into the circumstances connected with serving the summons on Mr Sheehy consider that a breach of privilege had not been committed, but that it was a grave indiscretion on the part of the police authorities.
