THE PRESBYTERIAN BAZAAR.
TO THE EDITOR# Sir,—l am informed that at the close of the Presbyterian Bazaar the refreshments were sold by auction. Now 1 think that if some of the ladies who were so zealous about the bazaar would not have thought it beneath their dignity to have taken them round to some of the poor families of the neighborhood, who would have been thankful for them, it would have been more in accordance with the teaching of our Divine Saviour, who was the founder of the Christian Church.—l am, etc., Onob a Presbyterian. [No one could find fault with the feelings expressed io this letter, but the committee of tbe bazaar obtained gifts of these things for tbe purpose of clearing off a debt which is on their church. The goods were not theirs, they only held them in trust for the Church, and it would not have been right for theTs to become charitable with what did not belong to them. They got the goods to dispose of to the best advantage for the good of the Church. That they did and,‘no oua ought to complain.— The Editor}. i
