THE DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA.

Sydney, November 24. Fourteen hundred bags pf New Zealand wheat have been sold at 4s 8d to 5a fid per bushel. Famine prices prerail in the country districts. ■ it Hay the temperature reached 194 in the shade, and ten deaths hare occurred frdua heat in the last two days. The whole country is a mass of fire. In some inland towns the, smoke is so thick that the aun has not .been seen for, days. Large bush fires near town, have enveloped,the whole place with nmoke, and vessels bound to Port Jackson hare bean unable to inake the land. The weather is hot, and several cases of persons siruok down' are reported. One case to day resulted fatally.
