THE LONDON MURDERS.

AN ARREST. London, Nov. 20. The funeral of the recent victim of the Whitachapel murders was followed by tho usands, and the large attendance is regarded as a protest against the supineness of the authorities in tllowing the murderer to remain at large. Nov. 21. Another woman has been murdered in the vicinity of Whitechapel. The body is mutilated in a similar manner to the bodies of the previous victims. This is the ninth murder of the kind up to date. Later. The last victim of attempted murder is still living, her wounds not being so serious as at first supposed. She has made a statement to the effect that she was drinking In the evening with a man whom she met, and who subsequently acompanied tier to her lodgings. The fellow suddenly turned on her and attacked her, but she struggled violently and screamed, and the murderer becoming alar&ed desisted. He succeeded in making his escape good, though pursued for three hundred yards. The woman has furnished an accurate description of her assailant, and bis arrest is hourly expected. He is not believed to have any connection with the previous murders. A man, who is suspected of being identical with the assassin who attempted the life of the woman on Tuesday, was anested in Whitechapel early to-day after a furious resistance.
