THE DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA.
Sydney, November 19i The fruit crops at Bombale ha've been destroyed by frosts. Herbage has dried up, and the river has ceased running. At Inverell the squatters have buffered heavy loss, A splendid supply of artesian water has been struck on Werribea'station, near Burke, giving 356,000 gallons per diem. I November 20, At Inverell chaff is selling at; £8 per ton and wheat at 5s per bushel. The crops about Oberon, Bathurst 'district, are dying off. In the vicinity o» Windsor, on the Hawkesbury; all farming operations are suspended, Tbejcountry is in a deplorable condition, Tke price of grain is rapidly rising. Brisbane, November 19, On the Darling Downs, especially in the neighborhood' of Dailey, stock are dying fast, and a water famine is imminent. November 20, The dire effects ot the drought are being severely felt in all parts' of the country.
