He aclied that be had no doubt that Sir Thomas Mcllraith had caused the death of the late Goyernor, Sir Anthony Musgrave, nud he was now bullying Lord Knutsford over the appointment of the new Governor. Brisbane, November 15. A leading Chinese merchant hns received information that the Chinese Government' will retaliate Australia's actiou in preventing the introduction of Chinpse into the colonies, by imposing n polltax of ten dollars oh every Britisher entering Canton, Shanghai, Amoy, and Foocbow.
