RIFLE MATCHES.

C BATTERY V. GERALDINE RIFLES,

A rifle match between teams chosen from the above corps came off at the Geruldine rauge on Thursday last. The visiting team arrived by road at 2.30 p.m., and a start was made with the firiug immediately. The conditions of the match were : ten men a side, distance 200 and 300 yard", sever shots at each nnge. Wimbledon targets and scoring. A healthy rivalry between the two teams was noticeable all through. A gusty wind made good shooting almost impossible. By the time the second distance was fired, the light, too, was bad. The Battery team *Y>n the match by 13 yoints. The Geml dine men showed up batter a f the longer range, where they puiled up 26 points on their opponents. The following are the scores :
