A Wanganui bankrupt named F. Richards, at a meeting on Tuesday, declared he had lost between £IO,OOO and £20,000 sine® 1883 by ironmongery and meat preserving ventures. Thomas Gleeson, who was arrested at Invercargill last week, was committed for trial on Wednesday on three separate charges of burglary at Dunedin. A meeting of master bootmakers was held at Auckland on Wednesday night to consider the dispute which has arisen at McArthur’s factory, when a resolution was passed advising the employee about whom the trouble was caused to pay the fine under protest, and that the matter would be referred to arbitration. The appeal was dismissed with costs, the decision of Mr Justice Ward being affirmed. The Wellington Woollen Company have decided to writs oS 12s per share for the purpose of liquidating the preliminary expenses, £6650. John Head, the referee in the DunnTiffin wrestling match at Greymouth on Saturday, has declared the match drawn, and bets off.
