At the Wellington Police Court on Friday Ernest Wilde pleaded guilty to the larceny of a costume, the property of S'bbald, and was remanded for the pro? billion officers report. Yesterday morning Qaoler Philips stated that he believed that prisoner's statement that he had simply taken care of the article was correct ami that he had pleaded gui'ty under a misapprehension. Wilde said he had believed, as the articles wero found in his possession, it constituted an offdnce, but he had no felonious intent and never attempted to renlise on them. Sibbald said he believed the u\ar\ perfectly honest. Mr Carew. was satisfied and ordered Wilde to, come up for sentence when called on.
