80. JOCKEY CLUB’S SPRING MEETING. The South Canterbury Jockey's Club’s Spring Meeting commenced -oil Tuesday last. The attendance, - considering -the-reitlier unpleasant weather, was very good. The officers cf the Club appeared to give every satisfaction. Mr M. Soannell was in charge of the Grand Stand booth, Mr Acglaiud the No. 1 booth, and Mr L. Tombs the Grand S'.und refreshment booth.- All appeared to bi well patronised. Messrs Mason and Roberts had a iotslisator on the ground, and during the day the sum of £B7l was put through the machine.
