RAILWAY COLLISION.
Sydney, October 27.
A goods train while watering at the Fish River tanks this morning was dashed into by a second goods train. Attached to the first train was a passenger carriage, containing several passengers and railway employees. Ibis carriage was completely smashed, and many of the occupants received injury, Howard, a carpenter, had bis ribs broken and bis lungs are affected, and a man named Wilson sustained serious injury to his head, Both men are in a dangerous condition.: Mr and Mrs Spiers, Messrs Stevens, Coombs, Riley, and George, received severe though not serious* injury. Jt is explained that the accident ‘ occurred owing to the first train being short of water And - having to stop to refill the boilers. The weather at the time was foggy, and the leading train was not observed by the driver of the second train until too late to prevent an accident,
