MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Board was held in the Board Office; -Peel Forest, on Friday, the 19th inst.- There were present the Hon. J. B. A. Acland (chairman), Messrs R. Mackay, C, G. Tripp, R. Thaw, and G. J. Dennistoun. MINUTES. ■ The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. correspondence. The following correspondence was read and dealt with : From the Receiver ,of Land Revenue, Christchurch, requesting the name of the Rank the Board transacts their business with to enable him to bank any money which may become payable; to the Board under the provisions of the Lands Act Amendment Act, 1888.—The clerk stated he had supplied the required information, From Mr J. W. White, forwarding deed of conyeyance of road line throegh Ashby’s section, Orari Gorge. From Mr J. Talbot, in reference to tbe proposal of letting the maintenance of roads in RaiuoLff and Sherwood, Downs districts by contract. The clerk was directed to reply thanking him for (he information contained therein.

From Mr 0. M. Black, in reference to ranting the Board’s premises at Fairlie Creek.*—The elerk was directed to reply stating that should the premises be to let hie proposals would be kept in view. From the overseer to the Geraldine Road Board, calling attention to the state of the ford on the boundary road.—The clerk slated that the ford, had been attended to. ROAD MAINTENANCE. Mr Then’s motion to let fbe maintenance of the roads in the Raincliff and Sherwood Downs District by contract was discussed, when it was resolved—“ That tenders be called for nest meeting for the maintenance of the roads; alternate tenders for one or three years,” ACCOUNTS. After passing accounts to tbo amount of £6B 35s 4d the Board adjourned.
