LABOUR TROUBLES.
Melbourne, October 4. Three hundred ironworkers on strike surrounded a foundry and attacked seyeral non-unionists, one of whom was brutally ill-treated, and another severely injured. Sydney, October 2. The South Bulli miners have notified they will cease work in fourteen days from October Ist, unless their wages arc increased. October 4, There arc signs of an early termination of the miners’ strike. London, October 8. A great strike of colliers is imminent, unless their demands for increased wag's are acceded 10. The St. James Gazette predicts a coal famine. Paris, October 3, The strike at the St. Etienne mines has been abandoned.
