Christchurch, Oclober 1, Eustace Frank Allen, for forgery and uttering was sentenced to 12 months’ imp- - I 'nment. Dunedin, October 1, George Stafford Matheson, for embezzling Druid’s trust funds, was sentenced to three years. John Footreel, for malicious injury to property, was sentenced to 12 months. Alfred Horley pleaded guilty to forgery, and sentence was deferred. Thomas Rabbit, for sheep stealing, was acquitted. October 2. Alfred Horley, an old offender, for forgery, was sentenced to three years. A. H. Kinmont, charged with embezzling from A. Dornwell, was acquitted. Wellington, October 2. John Jenkins, James Parker, and Win, Higgins, for cattle stealing at.Woodville, were sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour. Silas Pugsley, receiving stolen property, was remanded in order to obtain the probation officer’s report. W. J. Simmonds, burglary was remanded for sentence.
