Temuka—Monday, Sept, 18. [Before Oapt&ia Wray, R.M. CIYIIi CASES. 0. Nioholion v. 0. Kerr—Olaim £2 5», Judgment summoni. Plaintiff stated the defendant was in the employment of Mr Andrew Grant, and wa« able to pay. Ordered to pay within one month, or 14 days’ imprisonment. W. O. Aspinall v. 0. Latimer—Olaim £4s 19s.—This amount was dus for rent, and the plaintiff eued for possession of the tenement,
The plaintiff stated the property belonged to him. He applied several times for rent bat defendant ignored witneia’ title, and refated to pay. A fortnight ago the oaie wat before the Court and adjourned. Since the service of the summons the defendant had oat down trees. He claimed for the amount due for rent and possession of tenement. Judgment was given for the amount claimed, and an order was made for giving up the premises forthwith. John Angland v. J. Moynihan—Claim £7 4?.
In this cise judgment was given abcoutlg months ago, and about 6 weeks ago an order was made on a judgment summons for the defendant to pay within one month, or go to gaol for one mouth. At the last sitting of the Oourt the defendant applied for a re. hearing, and the case was adjourned to yesterday, when he came before the Court and said he was mwhle to pay, as he was working for the Road ‘Board on a contract, and was only making about 3? per d»y. He had worked for Mr Wheolbmd and Mr A. M Olurkfince judgment rna obtained. He wai not able to pay more than about 3j par week. The oaso was adjourned lo October Bth, the defendant in the meantime topayas much of the money as be could; The Court then rose.
