COALMINERS’ STRIKE.
Newcastle, September 7 .
The coal masters to-day received a deputation of delegates from miners out on strike, when the latter banded in draft agreements. The masters are still desirous of settling the difficulty without resource to arbitration, whilst the miners are determined to hold to the form of agreements. The parties differ on many important particulars, and many substantial concessions will be necessary on both sides before the dispute can be satisfactorily settled. Sydney, September 9.
The conference between the representatives of the Newcastle miners on strike and the mine managers has been adjourned until Thursday next to permit (be miners consulting as to several important clauses as to agreement.
