DARKTOWN F. WAIHI.
A match between the Darktown (Tetfiuka) team and the Second Fifteen °£ the Waihi Club took place at Winchester on Thursday last. The Waihi men had the best of it, winning hi 7 points (two goals and a try) to ml B is only fair to state that several of Waihi’s First; Fifteen men were in the •field.
THE ENGLISHMEN 7. AUCKLAND. Auckland, Sept. 8. The football match between the English team, who are touring the colonies, and the Auckland representatives took place to-day at the !I ramway Company’s ground, Epsom, when the Englishmen won by 3 points to nil. The weather wae beautifully fine, and About 7000 people were present.
OTAGO F: CANTERBURY.
Dunedin, Sept. 8.
The interprovincial match Canterbury V. Otago was played to-day in splendid weather. The attendance was abo«t 6000. The visitors were the lightest team, and were defeated ■by 8 points to nil. A smoke concert was held in the evening.
