CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE.
• The Corn Exchange reports for the week ending Friday evening, the 7th ins*-.:—
The effects of recent cables from London is now manifest in this market, there being a decided activity, although holders are still, we think, over sanguine in waiting for further advances. There are now several ships on berth to load grain, thus giving greater facility to clear off stocks, and granting that some few exceptional lines have been placed already which cannot possibly remunerate shippers to London, we believe that sellers cannot go far wrong in taking advantage of the prices at present offered, as holding on simply means speculating on a further rise in the Home market.
