A passenger by the Tarawera named Alex, Moffit, from Dunedin, died as the vessel was leaving Russdl for Sydney, whither Moffat was proceeding for the benefit of his health. A Dunedin publican named Wm. Beswick has ba'-n fined £lO for selling liquor after hours, £lO for allowing dice to be used, and, £5 for employing a barmaid after hours. His license was also endorsed.
