RIFLE MATCH.
GERALDINE RIFLES T. TIMARU RIFLES.
A rifle match took place at Geraldine eo Thursday afternoon between teams, of ten men, chosen from the Geraldine and Timaru Rifles. The latter, who ware under the-charge of Lieutenant Jowaey, drove out-to Geraldine. The day was capital for shooting, with an easterly breeze blowing. The conditions were five, •hots at "ach range, 200yds, 300yds, and ! fiOOyda, regulation scoring. The match resulted in a win for tha visitors, tha total ■cores-beiog, Timaru 317, Geraldine 213. The visitors were afterward* entertained at a dinner at the Crown Hotel, and after •pending the t venieg at the Volunteer social left about twelve p.m. for home.
