Dunedin dealers have raised the price of all sea borne coals 5s per ton. At Auckland Newcastle coal has advanced 10s a ton; West Coast coal ls 6d; local is unaltered, but is expected to rise if the strike continues. TheEev. Jas. Hosking, Wesleyan minister stationed at Kumara, died on Friday evening, after several weeks’ illness, in the fifty-seventh year of his age, thirty-seven of which he labored in the ministerial work. The Bootmakers’ Union are attempting to cause a strike at Auckland. On Saturday they called out all the Union men from Garrett Bros, factory, but the men declined to comply with the order. The dispute is as to the number of apprentices employed. In the R.M. Court, Wellington, yesterday morning, James Parker, John Winters and Arthur Moeller, were charged with robbery from the person of one McEwen, on Saturday night week. The two former were discharged, and Mueller remanded till two o’clock in the absence of the prosecutor.
