, The monthly meeting of this ComnSittee was held in the schoolhouse on ■Wednesday evening last. Present;— • Messrs W. S. Maslin (Chairman), N. Dunlop, GK Taylor, C. E. Sherratt, ,J. ... Biordan, and J.; W. Pye. • ipNUTES. The minutes bf the previous meeting were read and confirmed. RESIGNATION, r Mr W. Goltman wrote, resigning his position as one of the Committee, t The resignation was accepted, and ; Mr J. Mundell elected to fill the raeancy. CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was received from the South Canterbury Board of Education enclosing copy of a circular received from the Minister for Education, informing Committee that the Minister disapproved of the school buildings being used for other than educational purposes, and where so used the samenihould be fully covered by insurance. ' The Board requested information as Ho whether the Geraldine School was"so used.—Resolved: “ That the Boardtbe informed that the Geraldine School building is not used V for other than" educational purposes.” J '^INCIDENTALS. The Chairman stated that the sum of £ll3s 6d was lyipg at the Bank to the credit of the incidental fund. A discussion as to the best means of supplementing this resulted in the , Chairman and Messrs Dunlop, Pye, and Altken (the head master) being appointed a Committee to arrange for a concert in aid of the fund, to be givefr at an early date. ' FUEL, ETC. Messrs N. Dunlop and Co.’s account of. £3 16s 9d, for fuel, was passed for payment. ’ ATTENDANCE. The master’s report showed the average for the past three weeks to have been 175.5. He drew the attention of the Committee to the fact that several children were not attend- • ing school. The Chairman was requested to r send notices to the parents of the - DETECTIVE BUILDINGS. Hi The Chairman stated that since the previous meeting the Board’s architect y had visited the school and taken note of the repairs needed, but up to the present time tenders bad not been ! called by the Board for the work. visitors. Messrs Dunlop aud Mundell were appointed visitors for the ensuing month, and the meeting terminated.
