AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. GERALDINE, Messrs Webster and Macdonald report Winchester Pair, 17th July—Again we report a keen demand for all classes of sheep, with a good attendance of buyers. We readily cleared all lines offered. We yarded 524 sheep and 25 bead cattle, and obtained the following prices—l2s fat wethers, 13s; 193 fat ewes and wethers, 12s lOd ; 90 store 2-tooths, 9s 6d; good crossbred owes, 7s 10d; and light stores, 6s Id. Cattle: Fat stores up to £6 2s fid ; fat cows, £4 7s 6d, up to £5; milch cows and springers, up to 50s. We held our first monthly sale of skins at our rooms, Geraldine, on Friday, 20th. We offered 819 skins of all classes, from pelts upwards, and with a fair attendance of buyers we sold as follows—Good crossbred skins from ,3s 7d to 3s lOd; quarterbred do, 3s 2d to 3a 3d; lamb skins, Is 2d to Is fid ; pelts, 9d, and prices ranging according to quality. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, July 17. An Australian cargo of wheat was sold at 345. J uly 18. Australian wheat, 31s fid; N.Z. long berried, 31s fid ; Colonial barley, 25s fid; oats, 225. July 19. The total quantity of ’ wheat and flour afloat is 1,910,000 quarters; for the Continent 318,000 quarters. July 20. An Australian cargo has been sold at 81s, and another at 31s l^d. July 21. An Australian wheat cargo has been •old at 31s. 8000 quarters of April shipment have been sold at 33s 10Jd. The market is inactive. 850 cases of kauri gum have been disposed of at a decline of 2s fid to 10s per ton. Two hundred sides of Australian leather have been sold at dtu 9d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, hare received the following cable messages:— London, July 11. Wheat—The tone of the market is firm. The weather is unfavorable for the„crop here. New Zealand average is worth 83s 6d per 4961 b; New Zealand long-berried is worth 34s 3d per 4961 b; New Zealand average is worth c.i.f. to arrive 32s 6d per 4801 b. July 18. Wool—The sales closed this day at the level of last sales, except for superior greasy, scoured, and washed merino, which descriptions have advanced to Id per lb, , and coarse crossbred, which has declined |d to Id per lb. The sales comprised about 312,000 bales; 157,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, 3000 for America, and 20,000 have been held over for future disposal. Wheat—The weather is unfavorable for the crop here. New Zealand average and long-berried are worth 33s 7d and 35s per 4761 b respectively. Tallow The market has been lower since we last telegraphed, but has recovered. It is steady. Good mutton and beef tallows are worth 22s 9d and 21s 6d per cwt.
