RSIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Timuka—Monday, July 9, 1888. [Before A. M. Clark, D. In wood, and J. T. M. Hay hurst, Esqs., J.P. 's.] ASSAULT WITH INTENT. Henry Tatam, a powerfully-built youth, aged fifteen, was charged with violently assaulting with intent Lucy Jane Talbot, a little girl aged 10. The information was laid under Section 3 of the Offences Against the Ptasons Act. Inspector Thomson conducted the prosecution. Accused pleaded guilty. After hearing the evidence, the material part of which is unfit for publication, the accused was fully ' committed to take his trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Cnurt in Timaru. CITIL CASES. Henry Williams v. Thomas Mating-ley-Claitn £l3s lid. Defendant admitted the claim, but asked for time as his earnings had been small. Judgment was given for amount claimed with costs, to be paid within one month. J. Brown t. Pickett Claim £4 8s 6d. Judgment by default for amount claimed and coits.
