AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. TIMAIUJ. Mr R. R, Guinness (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agr-ncj* Company, Limited) repor's for the week ending Saturday, June 30di, as follows Washdyks Yards Cattle ; Average entries of beef have been brought forward, for which there was a fair demand. The attendance was somewhat scant, and no improvement in values took place. On the 21st instant we sold 13 nice quality heifers at £4 17s G I ; 3 do light-weights at £3 12s GJ, 3 do do small at £2 17s GJ. On the 28th inst. values and demand were on a par witu prc-vbns week; we sold s few small h&ifvrs at £2 7s apiece.—Sheep: During the past fortnight there has been an increased demand for all classes, and a considerable number have changed hands. At these yards good entries have baen received, with few exceptions all soiling at satisfactory prices to vendors. On the 21st inst., for Mr Squires, wo sold 170 crossbred freezers at 12« 9). In stores, fo p Mr Palmer, 2-tooth crossbreds at 6s Gd, and for other clients, crossbred ewes in lamb at 5* to os Gd. On tha 28th inst. we sold for a client, 56 prime quality crossbred ewes at 12s Gd—top price of the day, 40 do do at 11s, In stores, 39 crossbreds at 10s 4d ; for Mr Balfeur we so'd a nice line of 500 2-tooth halfbred wethers at 10?.
Sheepskins—At Wednesday’s sale, in consequence of tbs favorable accounts of the London wool market, prices were fully 3d to GJ per skin higher than at the previous sale. Our total sales by auction and privately amount to 497 L which realised as follows Best factory crossbrsd* 4s, 4s SJ, to 4s Gd, second quality do 3« Gd to 3s 9d, butchers' crossbreds 3s G I, W 3s 9J to 4«, second quality 2s 8c 1 , 2s 10J, 3h 3 1, to 3s 4J, country lota from Is to 3s 3d according to s'x» and qualify. Hides—Maot with ready sale a' late quo*«.ticns, viz,, 601bs and over 4d, 501bs to 691bs 3jd, fdllba and under 3J, calfskins 4d, cut and damaged 2d to l|d per lb. We have quitted nil on hand at the above prices,—Fat; A steady demand continues for all descriptions of lough fa*, especially well saved country lots, which bri' g 8s GJ, 9v, to 10s per cwt.
ENGLISH MARKETS. London, June 28. At the wool sales to-day bidding was steady, superior sorts being very firm. An Australian wheal c.irgo has been sold at 32s 3d. 'I he total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,540,000 quarters, and for the Continent 000,000 quarters. June 29. Tin, £75 10?. At the wool sales to-day, 12,000 bales were catalogued.
