The Froetrade Conference since the opening have hem debating a resolution that it is desirable there should be freetrade amongst the Australasian Colonies, based upon a' Customs Union, yvith a uniform tariff. The raoiion was carried, with a distinct understanding that any policy of freetrade or protection was unimpaired. Farther resolutions were passed, affirming (hat it is desirable to attempt to establish immediately or in the future the principle of reciprocity by treaties in such articles as may be agreed upon by the Government of the reciprocating colonies. The Conference agrees lo supportan Australian Federated Union, whose headquarters are situated in Melbourne.
