In the Appeal Court, Wellington, on Friday argument was concluded in Regina v. Fong Chong and Clara Fong OHong. At the last Criminal Sessions the prisoners were charged with child murder. They were acquitted of the serious offence, and sentenced to two years’ hard labor for concealment of birth. ‘ Certain points were reserved. The Court affirmed conviction and the sentence will be carried out. A Tannaki appeal in a divoice suit, McLean v. Fredala, was also argued.
