Makikilii Sale—He held a very successful sal- of sheep and cattle at those yards. Tlie' entry comprised 1200 sheep and about .35 head of cattle, every head of •which;, was sold ; 500 crossbred lambs brought ,5a 6d ; 500 broken mouth ewes, 4s 31 ; 'and 200 culls, Is lOd. Cattle, from £2 to £4 10®.
Newmarket Yards.—4ooo theep of all classes and 84 head of cattle were yarded, and with the exception' of a few pens of ' sheep:and some,old cows.the lot was sold at nq advance of Is per head in sheep, and fromfls to 10* in cattle. FaVCattle—Not a large number yarded. Values improved a shade. Good quality steers sold at from £5 15s to £7 per head, light weights at from £4 10s to !£5, heifers and fat cows sold at from £8 to £6 10s, baing at from 14s fid to 17s fid per 1001 b, according to quality. Ddry Cattle—Very active inquiry was shown for cows just calving, values I for such ranging at from £6 10a to £8 10s; second and third rajes at from £2 10a to £4 10s. .
