The Pan-Slavist party are showing great activity in Bulgaria and Roumelia. It is expected that the intriguing will result in a revolution; April 12.
The Journal de Sf. Petersboiirg states that the marriage of Prime Alexander of Battenberg to Princess Victoria would rekindle the hope of the Bulgarian people that Prinbe Alexander would be restored to the Throne. It considers bis restoration would hinder tranquility and defer pacific relations wiib the Powers.
Berlin. April 11
It is reported that an interview look place between the Empress and Prince Bismarck in connection with the Chancellor’s threat to resign on sccount of the betrothal ot Prince Alexander to Princess Victoria, -The result of the interview is understood to have been a compromise obviating the resignation of Bismarck.
April 12.
The betrothal of Prince Alexander of Battenberg to Princess Victoria has been abandoned.
It is stated that Prince Bismarck is determined to resign the Chancellorship ot the Empire, and the difference between him and the Emperor oyer the betrothal was only a pretext. April 13.
A. question has been asked in the Reichstag, having reference to Prince Bismarck’s alleged proposed resignation, but the Chancellor wnnld afford the questioners no satisfaction, reply in g evasively to their questions.
