IRISH AFFAIRS.
London, April 7. Messrs O’Brien, Healy, and Labouchere aro announced to speak at the League meetings at Cork and Clare, which have been proclaimed. Dublin, April d.
In consequence of the determination of tbe Nationalists to hold a meeting, police and troops were held in readiness at Loughrea, Galway, - Mr W. O'Brien commenced to address the meeting, but the police interfered and a conflict ensued, during which 30 persons were injured. Finally the crowd was dispersed. Mr 0, Tanner eluded the police and addressed a meeting outside Macroom, 19 miles west of Cork, at 6 o'clock in the evening. The crowd on returning to town were charged by the police and dispersed. In other parts of Clare and Cork conflicts occurred betweon the people and the police. Many persons were injured on both sides. Order was restored by the evening. April 9,
There have been - collisions between the troops and the Nationalists at Ennie, Kanturk, and Kilruah, in which several people were sabred by the troops. At Ennis sevflnty-fivo arrests were made. Messrs Davitt, rlealey, O'Brien, and tanner, M.P.'s, were very active, and made strong efforts to hold surprise nie»tir-gs. Efforts in that direcliou, however, were checked by the police. Later. Messrs Redmond, Orilly, and Davitt, M.P.'*, also attempted to bold meetings in different parts of the country to prove the vitality ot the National League, No fatnlitios are reported in connection with the recent attempt to bold meetings, but several people were seriously hurt by the sabres of the cavalry. At Ennis, the Hussars drnve the people before them singing " Rule Britannia."
