M. Lnurie, M. Government sent a communication to the commander of the Etreria, which has been commissioned to survey the proposed cable route to Vancouver, asking at whose instance the survey was ordered, and at which point it is intended to make a start. The commander refused to give the desired information, and Government have sent instructions to the Agent-General to procure the information from the Admiralty.
