AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT,
GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 31st March, 1888, os follows : At the Geraldine ram and ewe sale on Tuesday the entry consisted of 8929 awes and 159 rams. Ail young sound sheep sold well at the following prices, viz. iwes—Lincolns, 9s 6d ; 4s 7(3, 5s 6d, 6s 2d, to 7s ; aged crossbreds, 2s 9d to 3s 6 I ; merit s, 2s Id ; crossbred iambs, 4s 7d, Rams —[jeicesters, 1 guinea to 2 ; Lincolns, l£ guineas to 2 ; aged sold at holing rates, viz,, 4s to 7s. Washdyko yards—At these yards on Thursday we sold a line of crossbred ewes, 6 sod 8-tooth, at 6s 3d j merino wethers, 4s j fat cows, £>3 10s to £4 7s 6d..
ASHBURTON MARKETS. Mr E. G. Staveley,. for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports on the Tinwald sale, 3rd inst., as follows Large entries of stock, nearly 20,000 sheep being penned, and a good attendance, Though the market was quiet, there was a fair demand, and, consilering the number yarded, a good sale resulted, nearly every lot changing hands. Fat crossbred ewes, 4s 3d to 6s 9d ; fat balfbred wethers, 7s 7d. We sold fat merino ewes, off Buccleuch, 2s 8d to 2a lid ; fat mixed ciossbreds made 7s Bd ; crossbred lambs, 3s lid to 5s 5d ; cull merino ewes, Is to Is lOd ; four-tooih crossbred ewes, 6s 41 ; snund-raoutbed merino ewes, 2s 7d to 3s 10d, We sold tha Buccleuch ewes, 2s 9d ; aged crossbred ewes, Is 9d to 3s ; aged merino wethers, 10d ; mixed young crossbreds, in forward condition, 6s 7d and 7s ; forward four-tooth wethers, 8s 4d.

The total quantity of wheat and flnur afloat for the TT nited Kingdom is 2.401,000 quarters. Australian wheat has advanced 6d ; M>'W Zealand quotations are unchanged. Leather is declining in price.
