CONCERT AT WOODBURY.

A concert in aid of the funds for the children's Iront was held in the echoolho«8e, Woodbury, on Friday evening last. Like most of the concerts held in that township it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening's entertainment. The schoolroom, as usual, w«a crowded to exc«ss, Mr T. K. Flatman, Chairman of the School Committee, occupied the chair. The musical portion of the programme wus opened by Misses Midley and Fraumann, who gave a good, rendition of the piarofort'*- overture " Farunbelle," The infants en mo next with the song " The Fox." Mr J, Thatcher rendered " The Standard Bearer," and Mr J. Ailken "Twickenham Ferry." Mr Hope's song, " Two Grenadiers," and Mr W. Ooltman's song " The Young Brigade," were both deservedly encored. Mrs Greases was loudly encored for her singing of "The Oid Lock,' as was also Mr Musgfave for his song " Die Muhle.' This part of the performance was closed by the school children singing " The Ladybird." After an interval of a few minutes Miss Fraulnnnn reudered the pianoforte overture " Styrienne" capitally. ',' The Ship that Never Returned," a song by the school children, was very cicely given. Mr Aitken gave the song " Hope the Hermit" in capital voice. The song, "The Englishman," by Mr Thatcher secured that gentleman a hearty encore. " The Miller and the Maid" was capitally sung by Mrs Greaves, and heartily applauded. Mr Ooltman obtained great praise for his singing of " Nil Dssperaudum," as did also Mr Hope for his rendition of the song "Simon the Cellarer." " Jaster Huntsman," a comic soag by Mr Muggrave, was heartily encored. The song, "The King's Highway" was capitally given by Mr Hope, and loudly applauded. The usual votes of thanks to thode who had assisted at the entertainment were carried by acclamation. The singing of the National Anthem closed the concert. A dance was held afterwards, which was largely attended, dancing being kept up with spirit for several hours.
