ALLEGED MURDER.
A man named Connell was received into the Lawrence Hospital on Monday, suffering from a wound in the groin. He died abortly afterwards. James Moßory was brought up a Lawrence on Tuesday, charged with the murder of Alexander Cornell, et Tnapeka Mouth on the 18th inet., and on the apphoa tion of the police was remanded until Monday next. It appears that the men had been drinking. Afterwards Moßory want outside, and Connell with some o’, hers came up and deceased attacked him, knocked nun down, and knelt on him. Moßory drew hie knife and (tabbed Connell in the groin. The wounded man appear* to have received no attention whatever in the way of attempting to dress the wound, and he lay all night with his clothes saturated with blood, Ho was taken to the Lawrence Hoepital in a spring cftrfc by Edmondi, landlord of tho hotel* Moßory is a middls-sged man. His parents are laid to reside in Ocahnhu district, Auckland. He has been engaged for some time di a teamster on Ur Jamee Smith’s Greenfield estate.
