Wool—Arrivals, 250,000 bales. Silver has fallen to 3a 7§d.
March 14.
An of? coast cargo of Australian wheat has been sold for 32s 7|d. A similar offer another cargo was declined. Several gnpll sales of wool have been effected at slightly improved prices.
The following private message has been received in Chris!church, dated Adelaide, March 13th :-" We are offering cargoes for March or April shipments at 33s 3d per quartos:, post, freight, and insusance and sacks'; consignment frae. Not much business doing."
At IJokitjka a little girl named Bergman choked hersHjf with an appip. A piece lodged in her throat, and despite the efforts of her parents and neighbourscou'd not be got rid of. The child died before medical assistance was procured.
