WRECK OF THE PLEIONE.

Weliington, March 16.

A heavy gale sprang up during yesterday and increased to hurricane force during the night and iB still blowing with unabated fury. The Pleione went ashore during the night two miles north of; Waikanae river on a sandy beach. A telephone message states that all the crew landed safely. The Pleione is an iron vessel of 1092 tons and under the command of Captain Cuthbert. She is said to be working farther in shore and as the beach runs out very shallow it is not expected she will be got off again. Nothing is known here of the insurance. No particulars ar« to hand.
