It is understood that until the agreement has been signed by both parties no new contracts will be let. Arrangements are being made to place, within a week, 150 convicts at work on the forts of the principal ports. The election of the Ponsonby Jjicenainft Committee has been held to be void 1' on account of th 3 candidates being nominated after the hour advertised.
