AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMARU. Messrs Grade, Maclean and Adam report for the fortnight ending Saturday as follows; Horses—Since the commencement of harvest sales at the Timaru Horse Bazaar have fallen off considerably. This is to some extent attributable to the fact that few good sorvicoab'e sorts have come forward for sale, and the screws and weeds live long. Wo have sold medium draughts up to £ls 10s ; hacks, medium to good,£B to £l6 16s ; light and weedy, £4 to £6 10s. Cattle—At Washdyke on the 23rd nit,, and again on the Ist hist., the entries were very small, both of fat and stores, Our sales of the former are equal to 16s per lOOlbs, viz., 15 steers and heifers at from £5 10s to £6 10s 6d, steers at £4 12s 6d, 6 cows at from £4 10* to ±6 10s. Sheep—'The small lines of fat sheep coming to baud are quire adequate to the demands of the local trade at the yards. We sold 51 fat ewes at 5s 6d, 295 ewes and wethers at 5s 6d to 6s, and (privately) 250 fat ewes anl 60 lambs. ■ Skins—At our regular sale on the 22nd uU., our catalogue was au average one for the season, and prices fairly good. We sold 330 lambskins *t 2s to 2s Id, 153 pells at Is 3), and 600 skins at from 2d to 61 for bare pelts, Is 2d to Is 8d for butchers’; country skins according to quality.
