TEMUKA FOOTBALL CLUB.
. A special meeting of the Temuka Football Club was held on Saturday evening last in the Temuka Hotel to consider the advisability of forming a Rugby Union for this part of the district. There was a fair attendance, and Mr Flint (captain) occupied the chair. A ■circular letter was read from the Tirnaru Club,,.stating that a meeting would be held in Tirnaru on Thursday, Bth March, to consider the question, and requesting •the Club to send delegates to the same to discuss the matter. After considerable discussion, in which the Chairman pointed out the advantages of having a Union for the district, the following resolution was carried unanimously—‘‘That the deUeates appointed by the Club be empowered to support the formation of a Union for South Canterbury, but the Club is decidedly averse to the proposai io include Clubs south of the Waxtaki. Messrs Flint and J. Telvin were appointed as the delegates to attend the meeting in Tirnaru. It was decided to hold the annual meeting on Tuesday, 13th March. A . vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
