At Blenheim a small brewery owned by Mrs Barry, but worked by Ramsey, was burned down at three o’clock yesterday morning. The cottage adjoining owned by Mm Barry was nearly destroyed. The insurances amount to £290. On the previous day a six-roomed cottage belong* ing to John Renfrew was burnt. Two rooms used as a dairy were nearly destroyed. £25 in notes and a £25 •heque ware burnt, but tire furniture was saved. The insurances were £2OO. Property holders in Auckland are no having joyful times at present. One gentleman who owns considerable property in the city has now 27 houses and shops vacant.
