AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.

The regular monthly meeting of the Arowhenui Town Board was held in the Town Board's Office, Wilkin Street, last evening. Present Messrs Lee (Chairman), Story, and Austin. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was received— From the Crown Lands Department advising the Board that the Receiver of Land Revenue would shortly render a voucher for moneys due on account of deferred payment land in Arowhenua, and that the Board would be duly advised when same would be payable. From the Property Tax Department intimating that a voucher had been sent to the Treasury for the payment of £6l4s 3d amount due for rates on Crown lands.

The Overseer's report was read as follows: " I have the honor to report that the various works authorised by the Board have been satisfactorily carried cut. Contract No. 5 has been completed, and, in accordance with instructions, I arranged with the contractor to cart shingle for the footpaths in Alexandra street. Owing to the continued dry weather, the roads are all more or less in a rough condition. At a convenient opportunity it will be necessary to put a light coat of shingle on Wilkin street.

"The amount placed at fixed, deposit with the bank fell due on January 26th. The sum of £IOO has been placed at deposit for twelve months, £SO ■ for six months, and the balance, with interest, transferred to current account.

•* Rates continue to come in slowly. "The amount to the Board's credit is £ll6 0s 2d. "Aifd. W. Gaze." RATES. With regard to the non-payment of rates, it was resolved that the Clerk take iramediare action to enforce payment of same. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £63 17a 9d were passed for payment.
