Mr Barclay, convener and chairman of the committee. The report was as follows : “ The committee find that by the withdrawal of the extra capitation grant (£900), and by the substitution of payment of ‘atrict average’ for ‘working average’ (£620) the Board loses between £I6OO and £I6OO per annum. The committee also found that this was especially noticeable in the lower salaries, and they bed, therefore, come to a deciaion that day to ask the Board to strike out of the reooit the line “ Seduction on salaries between £l3O and £l5O 4 per cent.” In doing so they would Lave to subtract £B6 from the £327 shown as a saving in reducing the salaries, thus leaving £241 th « ac,ual total Bum ,aved under the bead of “reductions on salaries” The report was adopted, subject to the alteration suggested by the committee, and the chairman and Messrs Barclay, Smyth and Gray were appointed a committee to revise the incidental fund and scale of salaries, and rearrange the teaching staff. meeting then terminated.
