AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMAKU. Mr Moss Jonas reports as follows ; Business in all lines has been brisk, but he regrets to report a slight decline in the value of classes of sheep. Sheepskins-—At present most of the entries are very light skins, pelts in fact, and from Id to 7d in value. Lambskins realise from 7d to Is. Woolly merino and crossbred skins command attention at 2s for medium merinos, and from Ss 2d to 5s for well-saved crossbreds. Pleasant Point Sale—He held his monthly sale on Monday last, and is pleased to report that although a slight decline in the value of sheep is to be noted, yet the sale passed off most successfully. Be said 72 dry ewes at 5s 6d, 147 2 and 4-toolh ewes and wethers at 5s Bd, 70 at 6s, 109 hoggets at 6s 2d, 271 2-tooth crossbreds, at 6s 31, 143 owes and wothers at 6s 6d, and 86 2 and 4-tooth maiden ewes at 7s, 2 cows at £4 17s 6d, 2 at £8 12s, 3 at £3 2s fid, 5 at £3, 10 at £1 6s. 1 fat cow at £3 12s 6i, 3 steers and heifers at £4 ss, 2 at £5. and 2 at £5 12s 6d, calves 13s, yearlings 17s, 7 pigs at 12s and 1 at 14s.
Newmarket Haleyards—At his Brio in these yards on Tuesday last' there was a large entry ot both sheep and cattle' and a big crowd of farnr'rs and others interested in the sale. There was very good competition lor ev'-ry line offered, but owing to the recent slight decline in values owners and would-be owners differed as to prices, and not so much business was done ns there might hare been in consiquonoe, but taken altogether Ihe sale was a very good one indeed. He sold 142 2 tooth crossbred ewes at os 6d, 67 fat ewes at 6s, 188 2-tomh. halfbred ewrerat 6s 6d, and 30 ewes with lambs at 7a, 12 steers and heifers at £1 17a, 1 steer at £2 7s 6d, 3 at £2 10s, 21 steers and heifers at £2 17s 6d, 1 heifer at £3 7a, 1 steer a' £3 ,10a, 2 at £4 ss, 1 fat cow £5 2s 6 i, and 8 dairy cows at from £2 10a to £4, 31 pigs at Ba, and 1 at 27s 6d.
Country Sale—On Wednesday last he hold a very successful sale of (arming stock and implements at Mr Wilcocks* farm, Geraldine road. Washdyke Yards—Entries have been light for all classes of stock at the weekly sales in these yards. At his last sale he disposed of 97 2-tooth crossbreds nt 5s Bd, 36 tat ewes at 7a, 2 cows at £3 10s, 1 steer at £3 12s 6d, and 3 at £1 12s 6d,
Horses, etc.—Ho bold a very good sale of horses and implements in his horse bazaar on the 7(h inst., when he disposed of light harness horses up to £ll. Hacks, £8 ; draught mares and geldings, from £JO to £22 ; waggonette, £25 10s ; cab, £ll 30s; grassmower, £lO ; seedsower, £ls; farm drays, £lO 10s and £l3 ; corncrusber, £5, und a miscellaneous nssoriment of ploughs, harness, etc., all at fair prices.
ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Jan. 12. Wool firmly maintains last pr.ces. 180.000 bales have arrived for the next series. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 1.472.000 quarters, and for the Continent 180)000 quarters. Wheat is quoted at 35s per quarter. Jan. 13. The frozen meat ex Iberia is being si Id at 3d ; New Zealand from 3d to 4d, Scotch pig iron is at 445, The wheat market is firm. Adelaide cargoes off the coast are quoted at 32* Consignments on the spot 85*. Flour is quoted at 24s Gd per cwt. .The price for mutton aud beef has risen to 6d per lb,
