THE PRINCE'S LIBERALITY.
Many stories might be told of the Prince of Wales’s generosity and kindness of heart. I heard the one I am about to relate only the ether day. When he was last at Buda Pesth he happened to be walking in the public gardens with several Hungarians of position. Suddenly a poorly-dressed woman rushed forward and literally threw herself at his feet. His companions were about to call on the police to remove her, when his Royal Highness stopped them and hastened to the woman—an Englishwoman—who said a very few words to him. The Prince, when she had done speaking ordered his equerry to give her 500 gulden, equal to about £4O, and thus raised from despair an unfortunate exile, apparently in the utmost distress when sue met the Royal Samaritan. —Vanity Pair,
