TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above Board wa« held last evening. Present Messrs Gray (Chairman), Mason, Brown, Coira, and Blyth. MINUTBB. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. , CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read From the Geraldine County Council, applying for £lslos 4d, being the amount of the Beard’s contribution for charitable aid.—lt was decided to pay it. From the, Treasury Department, Wellington, intimating that after this year the Government would cease to pay any money under “The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act.’’ From Mr Miller, 0.E., enclosing testimonial*. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £B7 4* 4d were pasied for payment. overseer's report. The Overseer’* report was read as follows:

I bate the honor to report that sine# last Board day one man has been employed 22J days cleaning water-tables, etc., and owing to the growth of weeds it will taie another 10 or 14 days to finish. The contractor has finished tbe concrete kerbing from Ewen road to Cass street, but owing to. several lumps on the road and footpath it will require ploughing and carting'away. The aoil ia very much wanted in Wilmsburat road, both on foot* path and water-tables; also, the orownof the road wants raising in one place, which I should suggest to be done, as the distance to cart is not very great, and it is a work which wants doing, in order to prevent tha water overflowing the road in time of heavy rain. The balance in tha bank this day is £l6O ss.
