PEEL FOREST.

The annual treat to the children attending the Peel Forest Sunday ahd Scotahurn Day Schools was' held at the Forest on Thursday last. The, day was beautifully fine, and early in the day the children, accompanied by their parents and friends, assembled in considerable numbers on the ground; The promoters, who worked most 1 indefatigahly to render the day’s outing attractive, are to be congratulated on the success that attended their efforts. The sports were started about 2 o’clock and kept up till about four, when an, adjournment was made for refreshment and the distribution of prizes to. the successful scholars of ‘both schools. After justice had been done to all the good things provided, and the children received their prizes, the sports and games were resumed, and enjoyed most heartily by young and old until 6 p.m., when a, separation was made for their various homes. The following is the pri?e list of the Scotsburn School, the prizes being presented by Mr Irvine, Chairman of the School Committee:—
