AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.
Melbourne, Dec. 19. Dalgety and Co., Limited, held their usual weekly wcol sale to-day. There wss a large attendance of buyers, and competition was extremely animated, The demand has been brisk for wool of all description*. 1160 bales were offered, of which 1050 were sold at very satisfactory prices, the market showing i slight improvement. Good grassy merino realised 9£d per lb ; medium to good, to 9d ; inferior- to medium, 6d to 7o ; superior cross-breds, lOd ; medium to good, 8d to 9|d ; coarse, 6£d to 7d; scoured, 15|d ; and washed, 13|d. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Dec. 18. The wheat market is dull and drooping. Australian, Californian, aul Russian sorts are 6d lower. The cargo by the ship Arnold has been sold for 345. No new crops offered.
